NOVEMBER
It's that time of year again, the leaves begin to fall and I get a craving to drink apple cider and stay inside all day baking yummy gooey goodies! I really love Autumn and the Thanksgiving Season. I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and the blessings that he has given me. I am so thankful for the pure knowledge of the plan of salvation! I am so thankful to be apart of the Relief Society. How lucky are we to be apart of this amazing organization? So for Relief Society Night this November, we are having a "Blessings Auction". It will be Tuesday November 18th at 6:30. Bring a friend and something to auction off that would be a blessing to someone else! We are also going to have a caramel apple bar...so if that is all you are interested in.....haha......COME!!!! This will be our 3rd year having this Blessing Auction and it is really fun! Hope to see you there!

August- {Prepared! Not Scared!}
In August we are going to work on the FOOD portion of our 72 hour kits! To me, this is the most daunting! What am I going to put in them? What kinds of food keep good? What will my kids eat? Will those things fill us up enough so we aren't grumpy? (I get grumpy when I am hungry!) Will it be too heavy to carry? Too many questions-I know! So after many months of research and planning I think I have it figured out. At least for my family anyways! I want to share with you what I have found and give you some tips and pointers on what I think will work. Just a few hints at what we accomplish on August 19th:
* 72 hour food kits that provide -high calories while not sacrificing nutrition
-low cost
-non-cook food items
-food that will taste good so you will want to rotate

at least 1X a year
-free meal plans and shopping lists! Woohoo

* Freeze dried food taste table-THRIVE LIFE
* Buddy Burner- Great for cooking a meal in a single pot or small can. You can boil water, cook noodles, mac and cheese, soup, etc. Please save your empty #10 cans, empty tuna cans and heavy cardboard. (If you have food in your kit that needs to be cooked) If you don't you still might want to boil water at some point!
I found this and fell in love with it! I am a list maker and most of the time it is filled with house "chores"! When everything thing is checked off at the end of the day, I have a major feeling of accomplishment. When I saw this, it made me start thinking of those things on my check list. Are those things really that important? NO! I should make this my daily checklist! Who else agrees?
Super Saturday
JULY! Come and now GONE! Where did that month go? Our Super Saturday was a success! We had lots of fun crafting with Central Ward! Hopefully everyone made something they loved. If anyone wants any information on the Growth Chart, Chalk Paint, Sugar Scrubs, Infinity Scarf, Quiet Books or Nativity let me know!
June Relief Society Night
WOW! I have been MIA on this blog! I am so sorry for all of those who have come here to find info and only found old stuff! Well now that it is catch up time.....I wanted to post some pictures of our fun activity in June. It didn't turn out like planned because it was so windy the day of that we switched from a Picnic in the Park to a picnic in the Cultural Hall! We had a yummy dinner and Sister Nancy Milne, Sister Wanda Drake and Sister Rosalee Charles talked about the importance of keeping histories and scrapbooks. It was so fun-thanks to all those who brought food and spoke to us! Hopefully we can all remember to jot down some notes in our journals and work on organizing all those photos that are stuck in boxes!
